CERTIFRUIT DAY – More Than Just a Fruit Tasting

CERTIFRUIT Day has been taking place for many years at participating CERTIFRUIT nurseries and garden centers in Wallonia. It is designed to help gardeners choose the right fruit tree for their garden.
Here in Crombach, too, the focus isn't just on tasting the fruit.
Of course, you can sample and compare numerous apple and pear varieties. In doing so, you'll discover the differences in taste, acidity, sweetness, aroma, firmness, and ripening time.

But just as important are the questions about the tree itself: How tall can the tree grow? What planting spacing do I need? What about pollination and flowering time? How resistant is the variety to diseases? When is the harvest, and how long can the fruit be stored?
The intended use also plays a role: table fruit, storage apples, compote, pies, or juice.
The CERTIFRUIT Day combines tastings, variety knowledge, and expert advice. You'll receive information about heirloom and regional fruit varieties and learn what matters most when selecting, planting, and caring for a fruit tree.

After all, you don't plant a fruit tree just for the next season. It should grow for many years in the right location and produce fruit that meets your specific needs.
