RECIPE: YOGURT CHERRY ICE CREAM
DIY & without ice cream maker
What would summer be without a delicious cherry ice cream made from sweet cherries? With this simple recipe, you can easily make your own cherry ice cream at home, even if you don't own an ice cream maker. You only need a few ingredients and a little patience until the ice cream is frozen in the freezer. Here's how:
Ingredients:
(for approx. 4 servings)
170 g sweet cherries, e.g. Carmen[S]
500 ml yogurt
70 g sugar
100 ml cream
Preparation:
Pit and puree the cherries. Put the yoghurt in a bowl and mix with the cream and sugar. Then give the half of the cherries into the yoghurt mixture. Pour the mixture into a mold and place it in the freezer. After about 45 minutes, stir the mixture and add the remaining cherries to create a slight marbling in the ice cream. Then stir gently every 30 minutes. The ice needs in total of about 3-4 hours to freeze. Well done and now enjoy!
Our tip:
The sweet cherry Carmen[S] is particularly suitable for this recipe because its flesh is dark red and firm. This gives the ice cream a beautiful dark red color with wonderfully delicious pieces of sweet cherry in it.
